Darkstar83 is the one-man project of Kostas Konstandinidis from Greece. Since starting in 2009, Kostas has been composing music using computer software and MIDI synthesizers, crafting minimalistic ambient soundscapes. While his music falls largely within the ambient genre, Darkstar83 often incorporates experimental elements by blending both fast and slow rhythms. These soundscapes evoke a melancholic atmosphere, reflecting the darker recesses of Kostas' mind—filled with cosmic imagery and deeply personal emotions.
Despite not being able to read music and relying solely on playing by ear, Kostas creates powerful and evocative pieces. He suggests listening to his tracks with earphones and flat equalization, so the subtle atmospheres and layers in his music become more perceptible.
